About Pastely
what it is, what it does, and what it asks for.
What Pastely is
Pastely is a menu bar app for macOS. You copy something, press one hotkey, and Pastely reads what is on your clipboard together with the app you are pasting into, then produces the format that app actually needs. A screenshot of an interface becomes working code in your editor. A receipt becomes rows in your spreadsheet. A blunt draft becomes a message you can send.
Why it asks for a Google account
Pastely uses Google Sign-In only to identify your account and apply your plan's limits. It receives your name, email address, and profile picture, and nothing else. It never requests access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or any other Google service, and it does not read your Google data.
When it reads your clipboard
Pastely reads your clipboard and looks at the window you are pasting into only in the moment you press the hotkey. It never runs in the background, and it never watches what you copy. Our privacy policy sets out exactly what is sent, what is kept, and for how long.
